Is it better to workout in the morning or evening?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. But understanding the benefits and drawbacks of each can help you find the time that works best for your lifestyle, energy levels, and goals.
Morning Workouts (my favorite)
Pros:
Sets a positive tone for the day
Boosts mood, focus, and productivity
Can lead to better sleep (early to rise, early to bed)
Fewer scheduling conflicts or distractions
A sense of accomplishment before most people start their day
Cons:
Harder if you’re not a morning person
Can feel rushed if you’re juggling kids, work, or commutes
Might not allow time for a full warm-up or longer sessions
Evening Workouts
Pros:
Great way to relieve stress after a busy day
More flexibility for longer workouts
Muscles tend to be more warmed up, reducing injury risk
No alarm clock required!
Cons:
Easier to skip due to fatigue or unexpected plans
If you workout in a gym, they tend to be busier in the evening
Late workouts might interfere with sleep for some
Motivation can be lower at the end of the day
This is one reason I prefer home workouts - no crowds or waiting for equipment, and I can fit them in anytime.

So… When Should You Work Out?
The best time to work out is the time you can stick to consistently. Whether that’s a 20-minute sweat session in the morning or a 10-minute stretch in the evening, what matters most is showing up for yourself regularly.
Choose the time that fits your life.
Keep it flexible, stay consistent, and remember: Something is always better than nothing.
