Are Fluctuations Normal?

Last week we talked about why your scale weight can fluctuate. Now let’s take it a step further and dive a little deeper.
Did you know that after a tough workout, it’s totally normal for the scale to go up the next day?

Yep, even when you’re doing everything right.
Here’s why:
When you push yourself during a workout, especially strength training or high-intensity exercise, you create small amounts of muscle damage (which is a good thing!).
That muscle damage leads to inflammation as your body begins to repair and rebuild, making you stronger and more defined over time.
But here’s the catch...
That inflammation can cause your body to retain water temporarily, which shows up as a short-term bump on the scale.
So, if the scale goes up the morning
after a tough workout, it’s not fat gain.
It’s your body doing exactly what it’s supposed to: recovering, rebuilding, and getting stronger.
Does that mean you should avoid hard workouts? Absolutely not.
It just means you need to understand why the scale fluctuates - and not let it mess with your mindset.
Keep showing up. Keep working hard.
Your results are building, even if the scale doesn’t show it right away.
