Make the most of your time

Effective workouts often involve sticking to a similar routine, using progressive overload, to build strength or endurance. The repetition can feel monotonous, but it's key to seeing results.

Although the basic, compound movements like squats, deadlifts, rows, and push-ups are incredibly effective, they can be perceived as dull because they don’t have the flashy appeal of new or trendy exercises that are all over social media.

Why are they effective?

Compound exercises engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously. This helps in building overall muscle mass and strength more efficiently. And they generally require more energy and burn more calories than isolation exercises that target a single muscle group. This is beneficial for those looking to manage their weight or improve their overall fitness.

Compound movements also mimic everyday activities. Squats and lunges improve your ability to perform tasks like climbing stairs or sitting and standing, while pulling and pressing exercises enhance your functional strength for lifting or carrying objects.

They also require significant core engagement to stabilize the body during the exercise. And a strong and stable core is critical for maintaining good posture and preventing injuries.

If you want to make the best use of time and who wants to see results, make sure you are adding compound exercises to your workouts.

The workouts in Move 365 are programmed around these foundational movements, but each workout has a slight change: it may be a new warm-up or cool-down, a different core or metabolic finisher, or a little twist on the basic exercises. They will get results and also hopefully keep you engaged!
